muzzleloader scope
 

Looking for a decent scope for a decent price any suggestions

Depends on what you mean by decent price. Got a Leupold Ultimate Slam last year and love it. Have it mounted on a T/C Encore 209x50. The price was $259.00 last year. Don't know what it is now.

there is no need for a muzzleloader scope, a regular rifle scope will do just fine. Leupold VX-2, 3-9x40 is what I have on my smokepole

depending what you want to spend i have bushnell banner dusk to dawn in a 3x9 with the circle x on my back up muzzy & i love it however i do have a leupold ultra slam on my encore has a small circle & works great & yes its true you can use a rifle scope to lot of companies make special shotgun/muzzle loaders scopes

I like scopes where the magnification starts lower then 3x. One has a 1.5 power to 7 and the other is 2-7. Some of the woods I hunt have moving shots at close range, but also fields where the higher power is nice.

Personally, I have never been a fan of ballistic recticles as the have never been exact to my load. I want a scope that is clear, fast accusition and very little recticles blocking the field of view. Still looking for the perfect one.

Any scope designed for a center fire rifle will work as far as managing recoil. I would suggest that you go with a variable ... something on the "low end" range like a 1.5-6 and 40 mm.

Buy the best quality that youcan afford. I am not a fan of the BDC type reticles. Just too busy for me. I have had no issues with managing the arc. Unless you are trying a really long shot - 200 yards plus, the arc is no big deal. You just have to have a good ide of where the bullet's point of impact will be at various intervals.

I like the heavy plex because these are easy to pick up in low light and brings my eye to the target quickly. Around $250-$300 you should be able to buy a pretty good scope.

My recommendation is a Ziess Conquest. A 40 mm Ziees variable can usually be had in the $450--$500 range and I think is a very good value.

I really like the burris FFII 3x9 with ballistic plex, the second stadia is dead on on my mzzldr at 230 yards, works awesome

Front stuffers and scopes ? Traditional here, flintlock and irons!

I have a Nikon Prostaff 3-9 x 40 on my Omega... great scope for the $$$ ($129)... and had betted glass than a Leupold VXIII that cost twice as much!!! Been on my gun for 8-9yrs now..

I normally use it on 4-5x... but I like the 40mm objective better than the 32mm... cuz they gather light better & can get you a few extra min of shooting light!!!

I just purchased from Cabela's the Cabela Powderhorn 3x10 ML scope. First impression is I was quite suprised to the clarity of it. To my naked eye it was clearer edge to edge than my Leuopold. I just finished mounting in on my White M98 451 and I'm looking forward to sighting it in next week. For $62 including tax and shipping I'm quite please so far.
