$200 scope

I have come across an opportunity to purchase a 243 from a friend and would like a scope in the $200 range. I have several Conquests, Monarchs and Leupys but do not want to be at that price point. I know of Burris, Bushnell Elite, Nikon Prostaff and Buckmasters, Minox, Vortex etc but have no real world experience with them. What would some of you guys recommend in this price tier?

I love my Burris FF II . Just bought a couple Weavers from Natchez for under $100 .

I like weaver. Crisp 1/4" adjustments.

Minox ZV3, hands down. Best glass I've seen for $200 in a long time. I did a comparison a few days ago of the ZV3 and ZA5 in this forum.

I have a couple of Nikon Pro-Staff's and like them for the $$...they are clear and hold zero very well. My primary whitetail rifle currently has had a 3-9x50 Nikon Pro-Staff on it for 4 seasons now and it's held zero since day one and has taken better than 25 deer in that time out to 350 yards. I also have a 3-9x40 BDC on a 7mm-08 that has been trouble free.

One other scope I would recommend you look at that is not on your list is the Swift Premier...I have several of their scopes and a 3-9x40 can be had for under $200. The one on my 270 (3-9x40) has been on it for over 15 years and hasn't required any adjustment since day one...I have the same scope on a 7mm Mag and it too has been flawless for over a decade and both rifles have spent a lot of time in the woods on hunts. I also have a 4-24x50AO on a long-range 308 target rifle and love it as well. Lifetime warranty, very clear optics, and great eye relief. In my opinion, Swift is one of the best hidden secrets of optics world out there.

I am a big fan of the Nikon Pro Staffs. I have one on Remy 700 in .30-06 as well as my CVA Optima muzzleloader. They are very crisp and clear for the price. I have one with NikoPlex reticle and one with the BDC reticle. I also like the Bushnell Trophy XLT in that price range.

The Redfields are mighty dang good scopes for that price range. They are built & backed by Leupold.

I'm a Leupold and Zeiss fan, but I do have a Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40 I got at such a deal, it was priced wrong and got it dirt cheap it was going for $150, but the marked price was $80, I don't have it on anything yet but it's a decent scope. Also I have a Bushnell Trophy XLT also in 3-9x40 on a Mossberg 500 20ga slug gun, this gun is only to be used my friends and family, this scope for the money is decent as well I think I paid $110 for it, my friend has the same scope on the same Mossberg and he likes it
