Hi to all
I have an old model 99 savage 300 mag .
I would like to get a scope for it
What can you recommend for this calibur of a rife

A fixed power 4x or 6x will serve you well. Leupold. BTW, 300 Savage, not 300 mag.

Yeah most certainly not a 300 mag...has to be a 300 Savage as redgreen says...I have near a dozen Savage 99's...great rifle. I have 3 or 4 of them scoped...for a 300 Sav my fav is a older fixed power 4x32 Weaver.

Good bases and rings on any scope (3X-9X) with a lifetime warranty will always serve you well !

I'm now confused my savage is a model 99 then it has 300 savage
So what cartridge would best be used
I have never shot this rifle it was my fathers before he passed
If you all could send me photos of how your scopes are mounted
Mine is not tapped for a new style scope mount
