Win. 94AE 30-30 scope rings and bases
I have a Winchester 94AE 30-30. I had these rings on there http://www.amazon.com/Wideview-Scope...642250&sr=1-57 they wouldn't line up correctly and I never could get on paper. The front drilled holes are parallel with the barrel and the rear holes are perpendicular with the barrel. what bases and rings do you recommend for this gun. I should be able to pick out a scope on my own but if someone knows of a cheap 3-9x40 they like please let me know.

Take a look at Leupold 50035 bases, with the Leupold rings that are appropriate for the hieght that your scope must be mounted. As for a scope? You used the word "cheap". Trust me. Don't go there. All of these so called scope manufacturers whose products sell for $35-$150 .... and there are at least 15 brand names with which I am familiar .... are selling "cheaply made" scopes. These $35-$100 scopes have no decent optical performance, especially in low light. And will seldom, if ever, hold up through the rigors of 2-3 typical hunting conditions.
If you are on a tight budget, stay with a well known brand anyway. Buy one of their scopes in the $100 - $150 range. Such as a Bushnell, Nikon, Vortex, Pentax, Burris, Weaver, Leupold, etc. If you can wait a while and save up $200-$250, then you can buy a pretty good scope from one of these makers.

These are the rings I'm using now. I've used them for about 3 years now and they work well.
Weaver 1" Steel Lock See-Thru Ring Mount Winchester 94 Angle-Eject Gloss
I use my old and cheap BSA Deerhunter scope because the Bushnell Elite 3200s I bought to replace it died.
This set-up works well...

But when I run into more $, I'll try this set-up.
Weaver 1-Piece Grand Slam Standard Scope Base Winchester 94 Angle-Eject Gloss
...and a Nikko Stirling next.
Nikko Stirling Platinum Nighteater Rifle Scope 1.5-6x 36mm Duplex Reticle Matte
The Nikko Stirling Diamond on my 30-06 has worked flawlessly for 2 years, 1500+ shots.
