Default Really good actual testing of economy scopes

This was done by someone for SWFA and in 2010 and is pretty good and surpising. One thing to note is it is testing the Nikon ProStaff before the changes to the new version and I think Nikon made some changes based on this test. They came in last! The turrets are now finger adjustable and you can "zero" them by lifting up (disconnecting) the knobs. In any case here is the link.

Ilya Koshkin is an optical engineer. He knows his stuff and is very easy to talk with. His thoughts are generally spot on.

Meaningful results are hard to obtain outside of labs and without adequate sample sizes, but I do give him credit for his efforts.

At least he is not one of those guys that responds to all optics posts. Some guys will never pass up the chance to give their opinion (or to give a sales pitch).

Ilya Koshkin also has his own website where he posts just about all his reviews and insights into the optics world. A very informative (and IMO, evenhanded) website.
