Scope Focus

I have a Nikon slug-hunter BDC 200 that has an adjustable eye box diopter that turns very easily. The problem is that sometimes when I cradle the my BPS, on which I have installed the scope, I notice that the scope is out of focus. This is caused by the eye box diopter turning much too easily when it brushes against something. I notice that on my Searovski scopes that much pressure must be exerted to turn the diopter and I don't have the problem with those scopes. Has anyone out there had the same problem with your scopes and if so what remedy did you apply to fix the problem? I am thinking that I can mark a spot on the rubber turning ring which will enable me to simply look at the turning ring to know if my scope is in focus without the necessity of shouldering the gun to make the determination.

Your comments and advise will be appreciated.

Your solution sounds adequate. Give it a try.

What type of paint will adhere to the rubber scope ring? Any comments will be appreciated.

Not paint but I have used 3M 5200 (white color) gasket sealer on rubber before and it sticks great!

It really shouldn't turn that easy.I would send it in for service ASAP but if you have nothing else the paint thing will do until the seasons close.

You might try wite-out correction fluid as a marker. It has worked well for me on several applications.
