Hammer clearance issue? H&R Ultra SH
 

I've got an H&R Ultra Slug Hunter mounted with a red dot.
Going to hunt a side of the property that I've never hunted, in doing so I've switched to a Bushnell XLT with a 32mm objective.
I need the low light and long range accuracy that the red dot lacks.

Problem is the scope doesn't clear the hammer.
Do I get a taller base or taller rings, does it matter?

But I already have that, the problem is the height of the hammer.

High rings then................

Had the same problem on my 35 whelen that is an h&r. It came with the scope mounting rail already on the gun. I wound up moving the rings away from the hammer and then sliding the scope up a little. This allowed me to clear the hammer.

we put medium rings on mine and it clears barely, put the hammer extender thing on it and your good to go!
