Docter Scopes

Looking at 30 mm tube Docter, 3-9x48mm. No experience with this manufacturer. Advice and comparison welcomed.

Have Swaro. Z3
Conquest
Ziess VMV
Leupold Vari-X III
Elite 4200

How does the Docter stack up against these.

Thanks

I've heard of Docter scopes. They are of German origin, and date back to WWII... I believe. They were closely hooked to Zeiss. Potentially, they could be very good depending on glass quality and coatings. BTW, they still make scopes, red dot sights, etc.

Been about 10 years since I last looked through any Dr stuff. They are good stuff but IMHO they didn't quite have the quality "diamond sharp/bright image" that the Swaros, Zeiss Victory or any of the S&B optics typically do. But I want to say they weren't priced up in that range either, usually somewhere between say a Zeiss Victory and a Conquest of comparable size.

I'd put them on par with Meopta and other former eastern bloc stuff available today, :s4:
