Zeroing a Zeiss Conquest using a laser
I have a laser boresighter and I tried it out on my Zeiss Conquest. The laser dot was about 4" and 2" to the left of the crosshairs. I adusted the cross hairs untill the laser is just about dead center, but the upper and lower adjustment just stopped, and I can't turn it anymore and the laser dot is just below the crosshairs. Does this sound right? I'm a little concerned that the elevation nob maxed out. Is my scope messed up?

Scope probably isn't messed up but your mounting system is.
One, bore sighting is about a waste. Its ok. But I tend to take the bolt out and just sight down the bore to a target. Two, you never want a scope at its max adjustments. This is the reason I like Leupold's std bases. Some don't, but you can center a scope adjusments and make adjustments to the rear base. To center, youof course to the extremes (carefully) and then center. |
Thanks. I think I've got it straightened out now. I really need to shoot the gun though...
