Burris Fullfield II opinions

I don't see a lot of posts about the Burris Fullfield scopes, but the reviews on vendor sites look good. I'm looking at one in 3-9x40. Anyone have much experience with these scopes?

Here is a good place to start;

I use Burris (Signature Select) rifle scopes !

Biggest bang for your buck (IMO), from a company that is not going away any time soon.

............and I use Nikon binos & rangefinder.

I have two FFII's and have had them for about 7 or 8 years now. I don't think there is a better $200 scope out there any where. These two have been on rifles from .243 to .338 ultra and haven't had any problems with them at all.

I do not own any Burris scopes but have a hunting partner who uses them and he seems very happy with them. I have looked through a couple and would not hesitate to use one.

Burris is owned by the Beretta Group, so they will most likely be around a long time. My only concern might be Beretta's lousy customer service might somehow rub off on Burris.

Thanks guys. I can't wait to try my new one out. I've read a good bit about them in the last two days.

My Uncle and a couple of cousins that use them and swear by them.
My Uncle has one each, on a .300 RUM and a 7mm STW.Don't know the models type per say but I do know they were the ones that first came out with the ballistic plex reticle and he paid around $400 American for them at the time. He uses them religiously on his two rifles and between his rifle handloads and this scope and his shooting abililty can nail 10inch pie consistantly out to 800 yrds with both caliblers..He swears by these scopes clarity, toughness, and quality..

Cullbuck,

One more thing - in fact the most important thing !

Make sure to get a Lifetime Warranty !!!

............and read the fine print.

Have 3 FFIIs and 2 Signatures. For a $200 big game hunting scope they are the cats pjs. Never had any trouble with any of them.
But I'm a homer....grew up in Greeley, CO.

I got in the mail today. It feels kinda heavy... Very clear though.

I have 2 3 x 9 s and 4 2 x 7s. No problems or complaints. The 3 x 9's are great scopes for the money but the 2 x 7 s are not the same quality scope, edges are fuzzy and the 1/2 clicks mess with me but they hold zero very well, don't shift poi when changing power, they were 130 bucks or something, and they are worth that

Wazz13 02-16-2011 05:33 AM

I have 2- 3-9x40 FF II scopes. They are both 7-8 yrs old, but have worked great and still do. One rides on a 30-06 and the other on a 7mm-08. The Balistic Plex has worked as advertised for me.

Having owned one, my honest opinion on them is that they are one of if not the best value for under $200. The only one that comes close normally is the Vortex Diamondback. That being said, right now the Vortex Vipers on clearance are a slightly better scope for similar money. When they aren't on clearance though, the Burris FFII is my scope of choice for under $200. They have great glass and they seem to hold up great, as well as track fairly well. I don't see what more you can want for the price.

They were a steal when SWFA put the gloss 3-9x40's on sale for $120. I wish I'd picked up a few extra ones.

Hey theather man, how many vortex's do you own?

bronko22000 02-25-2011 11:07 AM

I have 3 in matte finish and one is brushed alum finish and also have the Short mag scope. All have the ballistic plex reticle that really works. Great scope. I would recommend them to anyone on any rifle.

cullbuck 02-25-2011 01:59 PM

Thanks all. I've got one now. Can't wait to try it out.

I have two Fullfield ll's, one on a Rem 30-06 and the other on a Weatherby 300 short mag---very clear sight picture, no problem holding zero with the recoil, adjustments are easy to use and I've had no problem with them at all---

Pygmy 03-06-2011 05:59 PM

I have a FF II in 2x7 on my primary deer rifle, a Rem 700 Mountain Rifle in 7mm08..

It is the only variable scope that I currently use.. It has been a good scope..No complaints..
