Nikon Buckmaster

Is the Nikon Buckmaster a good scope for the money? I was looking at putting it on my Winchester model 70 .270

I have two of them and love them. I think they are great scopes for the money.

I have one on my 243 a 3-9x40 I like it but I haven't put it thru the mill yet. Some guys on this site say they cant take a beating the way Leupold can

Maybe not, but they are still good scopes and a good value in their price range.

I put one on my everyday deer rifle, Rem. 700 .270WSM four years ago and it has always been zeroed in every year. This is after riding around in the truck or on the atv. So I have never had a problem with it taking a "beating". Not that I am slamming my gun down or anything but from the normal bangs it may take, the scope has been great.

Nikon?

You are asking for opinions. IMHO Nikon, across all models in their line, gives you the most for the dollar spent. Am I saying they are the "BEST"? NO!I am saying "for your money they give you the best VALUE.
I have eight Nikons across all models and have never had a failure.
I have one Monarch that is over 10 years old and is as clear as the day I mounted it.
I have two Buckmasters on varmint rifles and both have been adjustment repeatable every time I have turned the turrets.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!

Is there another brand for about the same money that would be good or better than the Buckmaster?

I would look at weaver or sightron, i've had no luck with my nikon's. But if it was my money i'd buy a leupold, almost the same money and zero trouble.

I would look at the Vortex Diamondback. It is a very good scope for the money.

What is the difference between the Nikon Buckmaster and the Prostaff? What model of Leupolds are good?
