Redfield: Anyone have a new one? Review?
#14

I was reading that they are 100% American made, not just American assembled. That's enough to make me want to buy one when I need a new scope. In fact, a 4x12 makes a lot more sense on my .223 than the current 3x9...

I bought and hunted with the 3-9x40 Redfield this year. I put it on my Remington M700 30-06. All my other guns have Leupolds on them. Well I just ordered another Redfield 4-12x40. As others have stated they are quality, and have Leupolds lifetime warranty. Can't beat the price.

I had a new Redfield. It's a very nice scope. It should be, because it's a Leupold is disguise.
I called them up and had a long conversation with them. Here's what I was told.
It's made by Leupold workers with Leupold parts. I said to them.."So, it's a Leupold?" They said yes.
Leupold wanted a lower priced scope to get that part of the market. They didn't want it to compete directly with the Leupold line of scopes, so they work off of a smaller profit margin to sell the Redfield line. They liked the good reputation that Redfield has, and they thought it would compliment the Leupold line of scopes.
So basically, you're getting a Leupold scope for less that it should be selling for, and have the full Leupold lifetime warranty.
Not a bad deal.
