Removing Loctite screws??!!

The Soldering Iron trick doesn't usually work, in my experience. But it's really easy to transfer heat down a tight fitting driver shaft - get the driver shaft hot with a torch, let it transfer down into the screw. I tend to turn it with a pair of pliers or vise grips while it's still hot, but I do also have a few twisted wrenches because of that - which doesn't break my heart.

Another way is to put a screwdriver bit in the screw then with extension attached to the
bit tap it with a small hammer, or small ball pean hammer a few times, that will loosen the threads.
Good Luck.

if i were you id take the gun to a gunsmith and have him remove the screws. he will know how heat to use. as far as drilling the screws out let the gunsmith do it. the gun will have to be held in a gun vise to make sure the holes are drilled straight.

It would be nice to know what method you used and how you made out. As for myself, I always use red loctite when mounting my scopes. But what amazes me is how much most fellows use. When I do this I place a bit of Loctite on a sheet of Post-it paper and, using a toothpick, apply a small drop on the thread end of the screw and snug all the screws up equally. Another thing I see is how much torque a lot of people apply to scope ring screws. You don't have to have gorilla strength. I think the recommended torque is something like 15-20 inlbs.

a 150/400 watt gun makes soldering much easier, but if you hold it on a screw thats used red loc-tite it melts the adhesive if you hold the solder gun on the screw head for 1-2 minutes
BTW red loc-tite is a thermally sensitive bonding agent,
if you need to remove scope mount screws, or any screw locked in place with this thread binding agent, that were locked in place with red loc-tite simply hold a high wattage soldering iron firmly against the screw head for at least 2 minutes before you try to remove it, this allows heat to travel through the screw and melt the bonding plastic based locking agent
