Leupold optic for a ML

Well I want to find a Leupold for my new Accura V1 and I want to go with a Leupold because the warranty, I like thier scopes and one of the range guys where I work gets them wholesale. I have not seen his prices yet that he gets them for but it is suppose to be extremely good. Went to Dick's today and looked at the ultimate slam and I felt that the circle plex was a bit cluttered, I'm sure they are great scopes I just did not like looking through it. The circle plex appeared to me to be more obstructing. Their dots beneath the duplex where nice and I like them more than the Nikon or Bushnell with the open circles beneath the duplex. Looked through a Burris FF2 and it was nice but I want to stay with a Leupold for the price I will be able to get them at. I am thinking along the lines of a VXII or jumping into a VX3 depnding on the price that I get but will probably go the VXII route in a 3x9x40 or a 3x9x50. I would even go the VXII with a custom reticle from the custom shop due to it only costing approximately $30 bucks more. I get the theory of the Ultimate slam with the corresponding dots but couldn't I just go with VXII and get M1 turrets installed to do the same thing. I will be using the rifle from woods to field egdes where I will be able to shoot up to 200-250 yrds. I'm also thinkin about just sighting in about 2" high at hundred and then it should be close around 150 yrds. I believe. Most of my prior expierence with scopes has been little due to living in Ohio and only being able to use ML's and shotguns. What are everyones thoughts or ideas?

I have Leupold VX-II 3-9x40 with the plex on all my slug guns and muzzleloaders, I love them, never had problems with any of them. I just purchased one from SWAFA and I took advantage of their 110% price match policy, with shipping I paid $252

Leupold makes a muzzleloader scope called the "Omega" in fact they make them in two different reticles. They are both a ranging reticle and I think one of them is set-up to shoot 250 yds and the other 300 yds. A friend has one on his 45/70 lever rifle and really likes it.

That's actually Nikon that makes the Omega. Leupold does make a muzzle loader scope though called the Ultimate Slam.

I'd envy a VX-iii duplex w/ M1s :) :)

I'm going to the range tomarrow to get certified with an AR, I will see what kind of deal on a 3x9x40 VII I can get. If it aint good enough I think I'm going to get a Vortex. The 3.5x10x50 Viper is a little more scope than I wanted but it is $239 and the 3x9x40 Viper is $299, both V-plex's. Might as well get the 50mm since its cheaper. The deal on the 2x7x32 is great but I want at least a 3x9x40, I've used both and I like the 3x9x40 or bigger alot better.

Talked to the range guy today and I can get the VII 3x9x40 for $248 plus taxes and shipping, $51 cheaper than list. I believe I might as well get the 3x10x50 Viper for $239. Opinions welcomed

I feel the Leupold is a time tested scope and company that will stand behind their product, all I have is Leupolds except for one West German made Zeiss.....The last Leupold VX-II 3-9x40 matte/plex I purchased was last month I paid $252 including shipping no taxes from SWAFA

I have a Leupold 4.5X14 with the B&C reticle on a Knight Long Range hunter. It works perfectly out to 225 yards. That is as far as I have shot it. I shoot a heavy conical. But it works just as well with a 250 grain saboted bullet. the B&C works great at reasonable distances. And 225 yards is great for a MZ. I am hoping to get in enough range time to extend that range. Tom.
