Default What do you think of the Nikon Buckmaster?

On another thread, I received some very helpful information regarding scope suggestions for my Optima Elite .270 (thanks duckbutter48!). I can purchase a refurbished Nikon Buckmaster 3x9-40 for around $140.

Do any of you have any experience with this scope? For those of you who haven't used it or have other preferences what do you suggest UNDER $150?

I have a brand new pair of Leupold binocs that I'm going to be putting on eBay and I'm going to try to get enough $ for the scope, some shells, and some ML supplies to get my .50 sighted in. I can't wait... always like playing with new toys!!!

The Buckmasters is quite decent. You could do worse.

The Buckmasters is a good scope for the money but I'm not sure I would go the refurbished route. For another $60 or so you can get a new Buckmasters and have a lifetime warranty. If I remember correctly the refurbished ones only have a 90 day warranty.

The absolute best in its price class. For a little less though and brand new you can get a weaver k6 or k4 and they are one hell of a tough scope with al the clarity you need. Might look at the new redfield also.

I had a Buckmaster scope on my Rem 700 and liked it a lot. No complaints... other than having the Buckmasters logo on it.
