rifle scope poll

which is ur favourite and why

mine is schmidt & bender because they are the clearest optics I have ever seen

SWThomas 04-06-2010 02:44 AM

None of the above. Nikon.

timbercruiser 04-06-2010 04:43 AM

After going thru a number of cheap scopes I decided several years ago that I would get me the best scope I could afford, one that would last the rest of my life and possibly my grandsons. After reading a lot and looking at the opticstalk forum I settled on the Zeiss Diavari 3x12x56.

bugsNbows 04-06-2010 04:44 AM

Swarovski is great (I have three). S&B is great also. The new 1" Summit is awesome, and will likely be my next purchase. I also plan on getting a Nightforce NXS in the near future.

Bernie P. 04-06-2010 06:13 AM

Swarovski by far but I can't afford them. Most of mine are Leupolds.

thndrchiken 04-06-2010 06:25 AM

Your poll is bogus from the stand point that your comparing optics that cost in the thousands to less than a hundred.

...in addition to leaving a major manufacturer, Nikon, off the list.

# 2 None of the above - Burris

And you wonder why "none of the above" is second biggest next to Leupold on all these polls !?!?

MOST people can't spend $1,000 on a scope - period.

Big Uncle 04-06-2010 01:10 PM

Most scopes will do fine, as long as they are reasonably bright and extremely reliable.

Jwalker 04-13-2010 08:19 PM

I agree with Big Uncle. As long as its clear and bright enough to get the job done and wont break in the process...well, what more do ya need. I have had many Leupolds in the past and cant really say anything bad about them. Good luck with Burris, Bushnell Elite series, Vortex and Sightron too. Never owned a Nikon but I know they are highly regarded also. I've had great luck from the VX-I's on up in the Leupold line...I really like the two new Redfields I have as well. Time will tell if they are as reliable as the Leupolds but I suspect they will be. Cant say much on the Euro glass as ive never owned any and likley never will but I hear good things about them too. For my taste its hard to beat the eye relief / eye box, lite weight, customer service and made in the USA that Leupold offers, thats my vote anyway.

bugsNbows 04-14-2010 03:49 AM

Swarovski's are great. But I also love Nightforce and will be (shortly I hope) adding a S&B to the mix.

redgreen 04-14-2010 10:53 AM

I have sold all of my leupolds and have put elites on all of my toys. I like the elite line much better.

You dont have Nikon!?!?
The Nikon Monarch is a really good scope!
It is very clear, has exeptional zoom and is very tough

I had a Nikon Monarch UCC and it was an exellent scope. My favorite scope is the Zeiss Conquest.

Mojotex 04-18-2010 04:45 PM

As far as "best" in my experience? I could not select 2 ... if I could have, I would have voted Swarovski and Zeiss. Because I have used Swarovski optics longer, and more often they got my vote. Why go to the high dollar optics? Ditto Timbercruiser. Absolutely flawless scopes !

robbcayman 04-22-2010 08:31 AM

Nikon, which isn't an option.

JagMagMan 04-24-2010 11:51 AM

Heres another vote for Nikon!

Sniper151 04-30-2010 06:01 PM

Leupold: Price, quality, dependability and lifetime warranty.

gunnermhr 05-01-2010 04:27 PM

Leupold is hard to beat, and I don't mean the VX-I series either. I have a few expensive scopes but the VariX III is among the best period. I'm certainly not knocking any other brands But Leupold is clear, reliable, and warranty is second to none.

x 3

Burris has performed at least as well as, and in some cases better than, my VariX/VX IIIs and at a lower cost.

rjhans53 05-03-2010 01:31 AM

clear, holds well,

halfbakedi420 06-29-2010 12:13 PM

dont see burris black dimond edition on there anywhere, thats my nominee..cause thats what i got lol
and as said..swarovski is the best, but i cant afford em either.

skb2706 06-30-2010 12:43 PM

My favorite is US Optics (none of the above)

My favorite that I can afford Leupold.

What is the point of a poll that ranges from $50 scopes to scopes costing $4000.

skiking 06-30-2010 07:41 PM

I love high end scopes, but I can't say they are my favorites because of the prices associated with them. My vote goes to Burris.

jdhogg 07-15-2010 01:20 PM

old bushnell chief, and its brighter than any vx1.i wont pay what a some folks consider a great scope.gotta eat too
