Default $300-$350 Budget , need advice

I've been hunting deer and hogs for ten years. I just purchased a tikka t3 .308 Hunter , and am seeking a above average, solid, scope. I have been searching this forum and am confused on what to buy. I am seeking advice on the best overall rifle scope preferably up to 12 power. Im pretty confident in my ability to shoot up to around 400 yards ethically , and I believe the accuracy of the t3 will allow me to when needed. Thanks for all the help.

In that price range try the Bushnell 4200 Elite.

Burris Fullfield II is my favorite scope I've used. I have, however, read a lot of great things about the Vortex scopes. I wouldn't hesitate to go for a Vortex Diamond back or even the higher end one. I can't think of the name for it right now though. I'm not sure if my next scope will be a Vortex or another Burris. I love the Burris and know I love it and it has the reputation to back it up. However, the reviews of the Vortex are just amazing. I would also check out the Bushnell Elite 4200 however, I'm not sure if it's what I'd end up with or not. I think Amazon did have a really good deal on them for like $250 but I think it was a 3x9 one. I'm not sure if they still have that deal going on or not.

These scopes are all cheaper than what you plan to spend but it's a great write up about them. Worth checking out.

I'd seriously look at the Vortex scopes. A 4-12 X 40 Diamondback with dead-hold BDC reticle with A.O is right at $300. If you want to step up a notch, look at the Viper 4-12 X 40 with dead-hold BDC reticle (and side focus). It is right at $400. Personally, I'd get the Viper between those two. It's a dandy. Another great scope is the Zeiss Conquest (3-9 X 40). Cabelas has them for $399.

If you want an extremely tough clear optic I would go for a fixed power 10x super sniper scope. They are $300 but they are fantastic I have 2 of them on my go to guns. You will really like the scope, just read one of the million reviews there on the scope it speaks for itself. I am interested in trying Vortex as well, I have their binos and they are great.

My experience with scopes in that price range ... I second Timber Cruiser, Elite 4200. $300 for 3x9-40 mm. Buddy of mine got a new one off e-bay last week for $260.
