Leupold VX-1 3x9 weird focus trouble
#1

When I mounted the Leupold VX-1 3x9 on my Omega I couldn't focus on the crosshairs or the target without using my reading glasses (175 diopter)
I screwed the eyepiece all up and all the way out trying to focus on anything. NOTHING.
I was about ready to send in back when I tried one more thing.
I screwed the eyepiece all the way in and all the way out 3 times.
Checked the focus again. It Focused. Since it was a brand new scope I figured the lenses in the eyepiece weren't seated properly until I ran it to it's limits.
Just a guess, but it worked. Any ideas?

As a curiousity, were you looking through the ocular, while making those adjustments?
There are two lenses that move opposing to each other that adjusts the focus and diopter effect.
Sorry for saying these lenses were the objective, a lens (camera) to me consists of objectives which work together to create focusing.

As to cameras I shoot mainly XTi,40D and 1Ds. You?......
My personal digital still camera is a Nikon d40x with various lens.
I also have 6-35mm Nikons that shoot real film.
