You don't say what your budget is. IMHO I would put the extra money that an illumination feature cost into the overall value of the scope. If you can't see the deer, cheaper scope, you can't see it with an illuminated crosshair scope anyway. If you get one of the better grade scopes, Zeiss or similar, with a German #4 or similar crosshair you will be able to see the deer later and if you can see it thru the scope you will be able to see the bolder crosshair.

Really need more info to make suggestions. Have you investigated Trijicon Accupoints? They are very nice, easy to see and don't require any batteries. Check them out.

my budget depends on what i sell my bow for. it will probably be round 200-250 for the scope. Are barska illuminated scopes good?
|
I'd shy away from Barska.

oh really? whys that

Because it's junk, that's why. I'd recommend you log onto SWFA (join the optics forum) and start researching and reading the posts there.

I've had Illuminated reticle scopes and found I never used them in a hunting situation, neat idea but IMO it's just that. A good quality scope will give you plenty of light to get the job done in legal shooting hours, unless your using it at night I would put the extra money toward a better scope. Nikon makes a great scope for the money your talking. Stay away from the Wal-mart scopes, Center point, Tasco, Simmons, Barska, BSA, etc. We have all learned the hard way. Just an opinion.. Good Luck

alright, thanks guys. after ponderin it for a bit most of the night hunting ill do will be with enough moonlight for a regular scope

It's kinda like insurance..............it's not important until you need it !
