Circle hooks

I bought some of these to try. I need to know how to use them. Thanks.

Don't set the hook. When the fish picks up the bait, let the line become taught and apply steady pressure. If you use the traditional jerk-back hook set, the circle hook will pull out of its mouth. Slow steady pressure will lodge the hook in the corner of the fish's mouth. I actually prefer J-hooks but use circle hooks when I'm bait fishing and the rod will be in the holder. Less gut-hooked fish.

I use circle hooks for all my bottom fishing. BarnesX was right about the slow and steady pressure so you dont rip the hook out of the fishes mouth. Another thing that is improtant is to never tie the line directly to the hook. use a leader and tie a loop and make sure you put tue loop through the eye of the hook the right way. Hold the end of the hook with your thumb and index finger with the eye of the hook towards your palm and then stick the loop throught the eye towards your palm and loop the hook.. This will make sure the hook will turn the right way when a fish bites. if you do it backwards the hook will spin out of a fishes mouth. I hope those directions were understand able and if you already knew this then just ignore me :)
