Red from the Jetty
 

Made my first trip down to Port Aransas for my sister in laws wedding and was able to get a little fishing in. Caught some red and vermilion snapper off a charter then hit the jetty and managed a nice bull redfish (red drum). Measured 42" and weighed 27.5 lbs after being in the sun for over an hour while we carried it back off the jetty.

Big fish. Are they good eating?

Oh yea, Most of the dishes I see in restaurants have them blackened. I have had it there but this was the first time fishing for them. I will probably cook some up this weekend. I did cook some Red Snapper throats up as i couldn't see how to freeze them without the fins poking through the packing lol. Kind of looks like a bat when done ha. You can also eat the fins that don't have bones. They are kind of like potato chips when done.
