Heres a pic of this past weekend. We fished the aransas bay area near rockport tx.
This catch was done in less then 4 hours. We caught them off a boat using our secret rig, using piggie perch and croakers. The trick is the rig and knowing how to use it. We kill them on this rig, most guides use it and thats where we learned it.

When I was stationed in Corpus Christi back in 1959, we use to service all the Intercoastal Buoys around Aransas Pass.

Heres a pic of me and red I caught, this fish was the 7th of a 6 red limit. He was the biggest (27") but was released cause of our limit already being acheived.

Nice fish. I'm scheduled to go down there the weekend after Labor Day and fish. We have been going the same weekend for about 5 years now. Usually right around then is when the red school up to make their run to the gulf. If you catch the right day or spot you can fill your limit in less than a hour. We've had 4 reds on at once several times and it is fun trying to get around everybody. We normally use light spinning reels and fish the flats for them.

My buddy just got done fishin down there in rockport this weekend as a stop on the redfish series. I fished saturdy and only got 1 red and a few speck over in east bay
