Extra hook w/ spoon

Bought a spoon for bluefish/stripers today and it has a treble hook on the end. In the package it also came w/ an extra single hook? What's this for? Is it for running something a foot or so behind the spoon? If so, how do I rig it? Thanks!!!

Well, I've bought a whole bunch of spoons like that, and I think it's just if you want to change the hook to a single, it's already there. That's how I've interpreted it.

yes it is. I would change the treble, the action of the spoon will better and is also easier to unhook fish to be released.

It isn't fun unhooking blues from a treble hook, I'd swap the treble out for a single hook stinger.

So the single will still illicit good hooks from blues/stripers? If so, I'll swap that baby. Heck may swap it anyway...
