Hornady .22 Mag. Critical Defense Ammo
 

Why is this 45gr defense ammo so hard to find? Wonder if Hornady even makes it any longer? Midway says its a seasonal run whatever that means...

This load is still on Hornady's site, even passing through the new site transition, so I'm prone to assume it is still a current catalog item.

However, it's 22mag, which is relatively unpopular, so it's only natural to expect 1) low production volume, and 2) short duration production campaigns. Being a critical defense line product - a defensive load - where the 22wmr is rather poorly fit, there is even less demand.

Hopefully you find some soon, or an alternative load to suit your needs.

I did find some locally at (of all places) a pawn shop. He had them listed for $29.99/box of 50, but sold them for $25 per box to me for two boxes. I won't be buying any more at those prices...

Gunbroker has them also for $25/box, but shipping not included which is crazy!!

Midway now has them $12.59/box, so I ordered 4 boxes of 50, shipping was under $12 so not too bad. Should do me I would think!!:)
