Anyone load 200gr Nosler Accubond's in 30.06
I was wondering if anyone has loaded the 200gr Nosler Accubond in 30.06 and cared to share any load data. I'm also interested in the 180gr Nosler Partition in 30.06. I've tried factory federal ammo loaded with the Nosler Partition but the group wasn't all that good. The factory Accubonds were good but they were in 180gr, I have a box of 200 gr Accubonds I was going to try, was just wondering if anyone had already tried them in 30.06. Thanks for any info.

I have loaded 180 Partitions in my 30-06 with hunting type accuracy, ~1.6- 1.8" @ 100 yrds. (of course it was out of an old 760 pump) It was good enough to harvest a Tenn Boar 2 weeks ago. I was told to not expect great groups with the partitons, but heres my info
180 gr partition
54 gr IMR 4350
col 3.27
win lrg rifle primers
hope this helps

My hunting partner used these bullets last year in his 30/06 - got a near record book Oryx - shot clear through both shoulders - bullet exited and was not recovered. He used RL 22 and got groups around 1" to 1.2" as I recall.

as far as accuracy I've had the gammit of results with Noslers.....some of my guns shoot them well and some just don't seem to like them.....The bullets are fine IMO it's simply a matter of your gun.
I'd have confidence that if my gun grouped them well any of the 180 grain and larger particians or accubonds will bring down any game up to dangerous stuff very well. The .30-06 makes a totally adequate launching pad for these bullets!

Man, talk of the .30-06 and Nosler Partitions is making me go insane!!!!
On the 3rd of this month, I loaded 25 .30-06 shells with IMR 4350 powder and CCI 200 primers and the 165 gr Nosler Partition. The loads consisted of 5 each of 54, 54.5, 55, 55.5, and 56 grains of powder. There has yet to be a nice, calm, clear and cool day that I have had a reasaonable amount of time to go out and shoot!!! Keep me updated on these loads you guys are developing and how they are doing. Maybe that will actually keep me from going insane!!

What game are you going to use the 200 grain bullets on? Just curious. I've loaded 180 grain NPs with IMR4064, 50 grains. I got about 1.5 inch group at 100 yards from a BAR.
Outdoor Life had an article several years ago about loading a 165 grain bullet that would cause the .06 to mimmick a 7 mm mag - flatter trajectory and more down range energy because of increased vel at greater range.
May also want to find some ballistics tables that show relative energies at various ranges for the 165, 180 and 200 grain bullets.

I never considered the 200gr until now. Seems to me the only question would be cramming enough 4350 in the case with that long a bullet. The BC must be way up there around .58???? That would make for a bullet with way over 2000 ft pounds of energy at 300 yards. and probably traveling faster with less drop. I've been reloading 180 gr noslers in my '06 since 1961 and the thought of changing never entered my mind until now. I'm going to do some research....this sounds really interesting.
I called nosler....here is it in a nutshell. BC on the 200 grainer is .588!!! 53gr IMR4350 gives a MV of 2520. Of course, their data is ultra conservative. My guess is 2600'/sec is achievable without compressing the load. Does anyone have the ballistic tables for a 200 grain 30 cal bullet? I have the 190 and 220 data only. Regards, Rick.
