Hornady SST's?

Has anyone tried these? I have used the Inter-locks for years and was thinking of giving these a try. Looking at loading them up in 270WSM for deer.

I used this bullet (.270 130 SST) a couple of years back on a cow elk. Out of a .270 Ackley at about 150 yards, the first bullet blew up in the shoulder. The second blew up high in the chest. The next year, I shot a whitetail buck facing me at about 400 yards - bullet went back into the flank, but there was nothing left but the jacket. They don't seem to be as tough as the regular Interlock. Tried the new Interbond this fall, but can't get them to group any better than 3". Roscoe

For what its worth, my all around favorite .270 bullet is the 130 gr. Swift Scirocco. They seem to do it all - expand rapidly to a large frontal diameter - retain lots of weight - give adequate penetration - and put animals on the ground in a big hurry. So far, I have shot five elk with this bullet - all in the ribs - only one could even take a step after being hit, and it could only go 20 yards. One of my hunting partners has taken several deer with it, and has had similar good luck.

Looks like the 270WSM might be a bit to fast then. I might be better off using them in my 308 or 6.5 sweede. PaJack, have you used them on any game? If so how'd they perform?

I have had great luck with the 150 SST's on whitetails from 30 - 150 yards, they shoot gteat for me and always get the same results - dead deer with shredded lungs.

I have killed deer with both, they preform like a Nosler BT but half the price...

The SST is a fine bullet but not quite as heavily built as a BT....I'll stick with the interlocks for deer and bonded bullets for bigger stuff.
