Brass
How many times should you Reload the same case? 30-06

RE: Brass
It all depends on how much you work the brass ,and the brass it self.
Some brass is more brittle and splits after 1 load ( may need to aneal) If you FL size brass life is less Large chambers and FL sizing realy cut down on case life As dose High pressure I pitch cases after they need trimed the 3 -4 time depending on the case I have some cases that have been loaded 50+ times , light loads ,neck sized only You will have to inspect the cases each time you load to check for length, splits and case head seperation You should get 3 -5 if not more ,but check each time you load !!!!!!!!!!! |

RE: Brass
I have some cases that have been used as many as 15-20 times. I scrutinize each piece of brass at each point of the preparation process. If I don't like what I see I chuck it before it gets primed.

RE: Brass
Are you guys saying you don't get accuracy issues after 3 or 4 firings? I am surprised. Even annealing wiht a 30-06 I would say might get you 2 more firings.
I know my necks become brittle. And then after anealing, the get thin. Bullet tension goes down. ONly reason I say that is seating gets much easier. |
RE: Brass
I haven't had any problems with accuracy but then again I don't push it on pressures. I also don't work the brass too hard either. I don't crimp anything in my bolt guns but for the levers and pump I do. If I see something I don't like about a piece of brass I pull it and throw it out. I do keep lots of brass separated and if I see enough of a lot showing signs I'll dump the whole lot.

RE: Brass
I have a RCBS Case Master that checks head case seperation if the case is out of specification ,primmer pockets to large, cracks, or blemishes I toss the case. Good luck.
