0k so am I the only one that thinks .31 cents + shipping a case is outragous? For such a small case? I dont know anything about them but man that seems high. How much is factory stuff? would it be cheaper to shoot it once and then reload it?

Yeah, no kidding Mossy33. The least expensive factory loads I have seen are right at $.60/cartridge. My reloading notes show it costs me $.23/cartridge to reload, and over half of that is the bullet.

What I don't understand is that the parent case is the .222 Rem Mag, which you can buy for $18/100. Hornady must want to cash in before everyone else...

Couple of options, you can make your .204 brass from the parent case, .222 Rem Mag.

On ebay there is a guy selling once fired .204 brass by the bundle of 200. Seems to be going for around $40. His handle is obsessionone.

Then there is reloding your store bought ammo.

Cabelas is much cheaper by the way then Mid South, they want $22 for 50 and are back ordered.

Anytime a new cartridge comes out it takes time for the brass to get out. Hornady is the only manafacture making the .204ruger ammo right now, and they will be more concerned on getting the ammo out before the brass. I figure the brass should be hitting more stores soon. When it comes out, the brass will also come down as it is more available.

By the way, Rifle's Handloader has a good article on loading the .204ruger in the December 04' issue.

What you talking about mossy. Look at the 300RUM we buy. I don't think its much the size of the case. I can't imagine it cost that much more to make big cases. You probably know more about it than I making dies and stuff for your company. But I would say it is mostly demand and paying for development/marketing. You know like 42" plasma screens.

I just want to see the 300RUM brass go down in price. I a have been firing one for almost 4 years now. I think its time the price of brass starts coming down from that .4/piece.

Your right about warning me about trouble down in Mexico. Seems its all around me. They definately do business differently. Spending alot of time in the bars where all the girls seem to be attracted to gringos for some reason.:D

Talk to ya about you groups this weekend when or if I return.
