So whats so special about these Lee Collet dies?

RE: Lee Collet

Are you talking about the crimping or neck sizing dies?

I use both. I don't have any frame of reference for the Lee neck sizing dies because they are the only brand of neck sizers I own and I don't have any complaints about them. The collet crimping die I thought was a gimmick which came along with a dies set I purchased until I actually used it. I was getting decent grouping without it, but when I tried the crimping die its like a switch was turned on and my groups got probably 30% tighter. I now have Lee crimping dies for evry rifle caliber I reload.

Not sure Briman. Another guy on another forum, said using this die with your regular FL die, that you can eliminate all runout problems. He said for use, RCBS die users, to take off the expander ball and full length like normal. Then use the Lee Collet die to finish the job.

Probably means the neck sizing die then. Full length size with a rcbs then neck size with a LEE probably.

Not sure if this makes the most sense or not, as the Lee die has an expander ball also that the collet clamps the neck around, though the expander ball is free floating which would make me think that it might self align when pressed into the collet. Not sure, just a guess.
