Pet load for 25-05? Favorite bullet?
 

Does anyone have a pet load they would like to share for a 25-06? What bullet weight & brand works best in your 25-06?
I will use my head & start below the maximum load so don't worry about that.
I want to find a good load for deer & antelope. Then I will work on a varmit load.

I called my brother-in -law a this what he loads our 25-06's with

115 gr Nosler Partion
210 Federal large rifle primers
IMR 7828 49.5
I get about 3100 fps and under a 1/2 @ 100 yds on a gun vice and the crono.(Crono set up at 25 yds)

I have been wanting to try the Barnes Triple shoks but have not spent the cash on them.

Start low and work up.

Hornady 120gr. HP
49.0gr. of IMR 4350
Remington 9 1/2 primers

This is my favorite load for pronghorn and deer,"accurate" if the person pulling the trigger can do his job...;)

My favorite bullets for deer from the 25.06 are Speer 120gr Spitzers, Nosler 115gr Partitions and Hornady 117gr BTSP. I have accurate loads worked up with all three but the most accurate load i have and my personal favorite is....

Speer 120gr Spitzer
49.0 grs IMR 4350
Fed 210 Primer
Rem Brass
Seated .020 off the lands

I'm getting less than .75" groups with 120 grain Nosler Partitions and 49 grains of IMR 4350, CCI 200 primers with an OAL of 3.250" in my Savage 110FP. I get a muzzle velocity of 3008 fps (chronographed). I could probably tighten the groups a bit by playing with the OAL but I'm happy with the current load.

I also load thr 100 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips with 51 grains of IMR 4350 which yields slightly better groups and a muzzle velocity of 3167 fps.
