Whats a good one?
Reloader that is? I'm looking simple, one step at a time for rifle rounds. Bench top, single station.
Not cheap mind you, just simple no bells no whistles. |
RE: Whats a good one?
The rcbs rockchucker is solid and dependable. It is the press that is considered the standard to compare to by most handloaders.

RE: Whats a good one?
Greets,
I use a Lyman, I bought it for the price. That said, I have had the occassion to use an RCBS rockchucker. I have done a bit of price comparing since, as well as a bit of research into reliability and quality. I personnally beleive that the rockchucker is about hte best for the money, and perhaps the best single stage press made. Just my uneducated opinion! Terry |
RE: Whats a good one?
RCBE Rockchucker Ive had mine 25yr without a hitch

RE: Whats a good one?
For a single-station, I am using the RCBS Reloader Special (No. 1 version) press that I bought in 1968. It is as good as the day I bought it, no compound leverage, ner nuthin'!!

RE: Whats a good one?
RCBS Rock Chucker Master Reloading Kit. Good Luck.

RE: Whats a good one?
I agree with the Rockchucker. The Lyman orange crusher II is almost identical to the rockchucker and would be a good choice also.

RE: Whats a good one?
I have to go along with the RCBS Rockchucker.I don't used it like I use to, but it as good as the day I bought it 20+ years ago.Over the years I have accquired almost all RCBS equipment and never had a problem with any of it.I have a few Lyman items . Lyman #55 powder measure and Lyman bullet lubricator and one or two sets of Lyman dies which have worked well. You won't go wrong with RCBS products.Ruger Redhawk

RE: Whats a good one?
Years ago I bought the Lee Chalanger press ( I think when they first came out ). It still works fine and I only paid $ 35.00 for it new. That said I like the Lyman and RCBS presses better as they have a removable spent primer catcher. My Lee press has it built in and it's a pain to empty. If money is an issue I'd recommend the Lee as it has no problems but for a few dollars more you get convience.

RE: Whats a good one?
Ditto with the rockchucker. Got mine from my dad since he doesn't reload anymore. Its probably 20 years old and works flawlessly.
