RE: wildcats?
Although I have never owned a 7STW, the ones I have been around are very sensitive to differant loads and barrel lengths. I wanted one but have since changed my mind. I had a 25-06 Imp. and it was real picky on what loads it liked and at what temperatures. I decided after 18 months I wasn't having fun any more and moved on.

RE: wildcats?
Aunsaber-As the owner of two 7mmstw's and former owner of a third I have not found them to be all that load sensitive. All have 26" barrels and all three do have favorite loads but shoot well with several powders and bullets. They do not appear any more tempermental than most of the other cartridges I have loaded for.

RE: wildcats?
Handbook for Shooters and Reloaders, by P.O. Ackley has lots of info on wildcat cartridges.

RE: wildcats?
Stubblejumper; I am glad that you like yours.
In your loading have you found your cartridges to be temperature sensitive. In Kansas, temps. vary from +110 to way below zero. Having never been to Alberta, do you have these extremes? If you don't mind could you tell me what powders work best for you so I can keep it for future referance and pass it along to the people I know that do have the 7mmSTW's? Thanks |

I will be getting a barrel for my Encore in a few days it is in the 7.82 Patriot whitch is Lazzeroni's 308 short and I am sure Virgin Valley will chamber it in the 7mm-7.21 Tomahawk Lazzeroni round.they offer the encore in several wild cats that T.C.Arms doesent offer. However keep in mind that the dies are $100 a pop and the brassis $2.00 $40.00 for 20 rounds. You can reach them at 1-888-711-7551 or on the web virgin valley custom gunes
