Yes and NO! If you start moly coating, use barnes C-10 barrel cleaner. You must get all the copper out of it. Then you have to break in the barrel again. well just shoot some moly buulets and clean again. If you want to moly coat Nosler's get the protected point, the soft tip on the normal partitions flatten out during the tumbleing. Never use spray moly!

Instead of that, which I had once thought about moly, just try Barnes XLC, no break ins required and cleans up good and easy!!!

For varmint shooting I would not hesitate to use coated bullets. I would however think twice before shooting game that I will eat with them.

I know many people that hunt with moly coated bullets, why to you say this? Look at Feberals answer to the 300 RUM they are moly coated 180 grain trophy bonded bear claws. Just would like to hear what you think!

It's up to you, I personally don't thing than molybdenum disulfide is meant for human consumption. I may be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

I don't think it will hurt you. If you shoot the animal in the right place you wouldn't come close to getting it on your meat. Besides after you moly coat the bullet and polish it you can't even get the moly from the bullet to your hand. it will not come off the bullet.

Even if it is toxic or bad for you, you usually dont eat the meat directly in contact with the wound. As far as I know the Barnes XLC coating won't harm anything and it is more solid than moly.
