Default 8mm Mauser

I have a sporterized 98 that my grandpa left me, it shoots awesome with 150 gr hornady's. Does anybody load and shoot the 200 partitions???

I have a yugo m48 (8x57), I reloaded the 150gr hornady also with good results. I just finished shooting the 170gr rn hornady's with very good result. I have not tried any of the partitions yet but I have not herd of anybody having bad luck when it comes to accuratcy (in any caliber). I used imr4350 in both loads.

50gr of IMR4350,
win brass,
win lg primer,
Hornady 170gr rn.
This will run it out there about +2300fps. This is going to be my doe getter load. I'm shooting open sites and I'm postion in a deep swamp so 100yds is max shot. If I scope it out I will probaly crank it up a little more, and move more to the edge of the swamp over looking a small clearing, even then I looking at 200yd shot max. My action is strong so I wouldn't have a problem getting another +200fps .
Its a good mild load for the distance I am using it for along with when I'm just plunking. Got a 2" group on 5 shoots at about 75yds, very good with my vision and open sites. Scoped out I can't imaging see anything less that a 1"-1.3" 3 shot group at 100yds.

May go without saying, but depending what mauser you have you will want to work up to it. You just never know with those old military rifles. My yugo was never issued and the action seams very strong. I worked up to this spot and got good results. I can't wait to knock a doe down.
happy shooting

I was real lucky, came across a BNZ 42 last year for $75.00 bucks: The guy just wanted to sell the rifle so far the gun is a tack driver.I have many custom large ring mauser in 8mm :Seems they all shoot the hornady 150 grain excellent:I also tried the speer 170 semi-spitzer with excellent results
