.44 Rem Mag Load
I plan to use my TC Encore .44 Rem mag. with a 12 inch barrel for whitetail this year. I've never loaded 44 mag's before. What's your favorite load?

RE: .44 Rem Mag Load
With that barrel, I would try 24 (maybe 23gr since 24 is max) of H110, with CCI mag primer. With a 240gr XTP. Very hot and accurate.

RE: .44 Rem Mag Load
240 cast semi wadcutter bevel base with 21 gr of h110. This is not a hot load (1200fps) but it shoots the most accurate in both the redhawk and super blackhawk. It works great on deer. I've found the hotter loads are not as accurate but you don't need it hot.

Yep I use a 240-250gr wadcutter with 20.5 gr of W296/WLR (yep, Lg. rifle) primer in a Starline case, never run it over the chrony but it is one accurate load in my 10" Contender bbl. Wes |

RE: .44 Rem Mag Load
300gr XTP over 21.5 gr W296 chronos @ 1290fps out of my 9.5" Ruger SR--
1100+ ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle |
RE: .44 Rem Mag Load
I use this load in my 1894s. It put a wallop on a doe this past year.
23.2 gr H110, 240 XTP, win standard primer. Sorry, haven't chrono'd it yet. |
RE: .44 Rem Mag Load
my fav 44 load is 24.7 gr of WW296 behind a 240 gr Hornady XPT. This is a max load so approach with caution.
