starline brass?
 

Does any one have any experience with this brass, good or bad, any cartridge? I'm going to start loading for my 454 casull 12 inch barreled encore soon so i've been looking at brass and bullets and I've found that the starline brass is a good bit cheaper than hornady and winchester brass. I don't want to go cheap and then pay for it later by using weak brass, but if it's as good as the others then I'll try it out.

It ain't weak! , I have only used it in the .454 Casull caliber, so can't comment on other calibers!

I have used it and never had any problems . 44 mag and 45 LC if that is any help . I know a lot of commercial reloaders use it for the ammo sold at gunshows .

44 mag and 357 mag, been using the same brass for 7+ years with no failures yet, I don't load to the max and some of my 357 brass is going on 10 loadings now.

thanks guys. it sounds like you all are happy with the strength of the brass but one thing i forgot to ask about is the overall quality and uniformity. how is it?

Used it for 9X18makarov, and .45colt high pressure loads, with no problems. I loaded the batch of Makarov for a friend, and after sizing I checked a sample of cases(about one in 10) with the calipers, and each was quite close to the other in length. I sure haven't had any complaints. And I'll mention that it is cheaper than most other factory brass, and they ship for free. I hear they are starting to make some of the more common rifle brass. Can't wait to get some in .30-06.

Garret cartridges ueses them for thier hammerhead loads.

I've used Starline brass in several different pistol cartridges and have had good luck with it. The only criticism I have is that the cases vary in length. Since I used a roll crimp, after trimming to a common length everything was fine. New cases varing in length is common to all makes of brass.

I use Starline to load .44-40 for Cowboy Action shooting and am on my 13th reload of the same brass. Granted, I don't use max loads, but it has held up quite well. Estimate that I have seen less than 10 cracked cases in a total of over 4000 reloads over past four years.
