New to the 444
I am just starting into gathering the components to reload for the 444 Marlin round. The bullets I have vary somewhat in diameter and I was wondering if that would be cause to adjust powder loads. I have some 300 gr JFN that measure .430 and some 265 gr. JFN that mic out at .429 (just like the Hornady box states) Should this .001 be something I should worry about? Rather ask the question that have to ask the smith to fix something down the road. Thanks

RE: New to the 444
.001 may not make any difference as far as saftey is concerned . as to accuracy it shouldn't make any diff as long as the rifling is not too worn. The bigger bullets may shoot better out of a worn bore. I use rem corelocks 240 gr. in my .444 @2550 fps. the bigger bullets(265,300 etc) take up too much powder space as they must be seated deeper if using a lever action. Then you can't get as high velocity. 240 gr is plenty for deer. I go to the 265 gr if hunting moose.

RE: New to the 444
.429 and .430 bullets should not cause a problem in your .444....now go shoot a moose.
