Default RE: What is the best load for a handgun for elk hunting?

I would start with the .44 Rem. Mag., .45 Long Colt (Ruger or T/C only), .454 Casull, 475 Linebaugh, .480 Ruger, .500 Linebaugh, or Model .500 S&W.

For ammo I would use LBT Heat Treated type Solids from (Ballistic Advantage Boar-Slammer Premium Hunting Bullets, or Cast Preformance Bullets).
