Question about Hornady and Remington
I emailed Hornady the other day and asked them if they were planning on producing a round for the 7mm Ultra Mag. Their answer to me was that they thought the manufacturer of the current rounds were doing a good job with them and weren't going to produce any rounds as of right now.
I have never heard of one company giving this type of answer unless they had their hands in it. Last night I saw that Remington has some cartridges with the Hornady V-max bullets.......in the Premier shells. Is Hornady producing the Premier shells for Remington.......That is what it looks like to me.... |

RE: Question about Hornady and Remington
The return message from Hornady is very perplexing...can you give us a name?
It's very common in many industries for competing companys to sell components and materials from each other. I know it don't make sense but it's just the way it is. Hornady bullets have shown up in Remington cases for a long time. Sierra and Nosler and Swift bullets show up in Federal ammo even though Federal is a sister company to Speer. Federal cases was used by Estate prior to the takeover of estate making them a sister company with Federal. |
RE: Question about Hornady and Remington
Hornady is not producing loaded ammo for Remington. However, Big Green uses the V-Max in it's premier Varmint ammo and the new bonded core polymer tipped bullet in it's Premier Accutip Ammo. Look for a 150 gr. Accutip load later in 2004 for the 7MM Ultra Mag.
