T-Rex ammo

I just loaded up some 500 gr home cast bullets for my Pedersoli 1874 Sharps replica. The bullets have a 19 BHN lubed with NASA lube and loaded with 40 gr of IMR3031 and an over powder veggie wad. These shot pretty good last week but I think this lube will shoot better. I was looking at the loaded cartridge and couldn't help but thinking they look like mini ICBM missles! Bullets are seated to max OAL just off the lands.

thats rather similar to what the 458 lott cartridges I load look like, but the only critical factor is does the rifle consistently place shots where you intend to in a tight group,
in my case it does with about a 540 grain bullet over a fairly stiff load of 5020 powder, producing maybe 1900 fps,
btw don't lend molds Im having difficulty getting that one back

They shoot really well out of my Sharps replica. After sighting the rifle in with the iron sights I honed in on the 200 yard gong at the range using the vernier sight and started ringing it. That big chunk of lead really rocks the steel.
