maybe just buy some factory loaded reduced recoil loads?(might take soem waiting and searching due to current issues with ammo supply)
there were several company's making them, from REM, Federal, and others(some I think stopped however, due to they didn;t sell very well!)

so if they make them, there should be some load DATA on things, if you look hard enough I would think!
or again just BUY some factory ammo!

found this else where, so take with a grain of salt on IF /HOW accurate info is??

NOT MY data or did I verify its correct, but something to look into for you maybe

The printed 2009 Hodgdon Annual Reloading Guide has an article in the front on low recoil loads by Ken Kempa. Here are the low recoil loads he lists for the 270 Win, and the recoil reduction ranges from 47% to 56% (to 8 to 9.6 ft.lbs of recoil) with the 110gr bullet.

Using 110gr Barnes TSX with 23.6" barrel.
1. H4895 43.5gr 2837 fps 1966 ft.lbs. 0.85" group at 100 yards
2. H4198 36.4gr 2815 fps 1936 ft.lbs. 0.97" group
3. IMR4895 42.9gr 2649 fps 1714 ft.lbs. 0.84" group
4. IMR4198 34.8gr 2701 fps 1782 ft.lbs. 1.20" group

Using 130gr Barnes TSX 23.6" barrel
1. H4198 37.4gr 2712 fps 2124 ft.lbs. 0.51" group, 42% recoil reduction with 10.4 ft.lbs. of recoil

look up youth loads on the hodgdon data center, I think any load using H4895 can be safely loaded down to 60% of the max listed load to reduce recoil.

Thanks for the replies . My son has checked out a couple of the Big Box stores and several small shops with no luck .
I have loaded 270 ammo for two of my sons . I need a reduced load for a grandson . He is interested in hunting but
is kind of wimpy as far as recoil is concerned . As soon as some of the ammo hits the stores , it's gone .

get on some of the online stores they will email you when ammo comes in and you and just buy then!
rather than trying to get lucky maybe at a local shop!

I scanned every store and online vendor I know of . There is only ONE box available and its on Gunbroker . The auction ends July 5 at 8;21pm
As of this post the highest bid is $26 bucks . There is $8 shipping fee . It says its 25 rounds but its not. Its one box of 20 . But I think you should be able to site the gun in with less than 10 . Its the only low recoil box available in the 20-25 places I searched . Hornady Custom Lite Low Recoil 120grain SST . It should do the job.

My son has his 270 sighted in and has taken several deer with it . I see a problem with the reduced recoil rounds . It would probably require changing the sighting to compensate using the reduced rounds for my grandson to shoot that same rifle . I doubt that both rounds would have the same POI .
