Looking for 338 Win Mag load data.
Does anyone have the Hornady load data for 338 Win Mag, 230 grain ELD-X?

the best load I found in my in my browning 338 win mag,
with a 225-230 grain bullet was 65 grains of h414 and a 215 fed primer that is not from hornady but its a well proven load |
crimedog, My wife is using 225 TTSX’s in her rifle, so I can only give you : powder - RL 22, primer - Federal 215, case - Federal Safari (nickel). With the TTSX’s we’re getting 2950 fps, but.... they are being pushed pretty hard. From a “box-stock” Winchester Model 70, 3 shot groups are at or just under 2” @ 300 yards. Good Luck with the ELD-X’s, you should get good accuracy! Though, placement is paramount on high velocity, close range shots! It seems as though many seem to prefer the “faster” powders for the .338 WM, we’ve had good luck with the slower stuff....such as RL 22. And yes, it will often be a”compressed load”.....especially if you use a mono bullet! memtb |
Dollars to doughnuts, you can use the 225 grain data from Hornady X. |
