just curious, ever purchased a rifle specifically for cast bullet use.

Yea, I have. I currently have two. A Pedersoli 1874 Sharps 45-70 that shoot a 500 gr cast bullet and A Marlin 1895 Cowboy that I'm still working on. I think my Lee 340 gr bullet is going to work nicely. I tried 405s and they didn't fair so well.
