I probably shouldn't post this as I cannot actually answer your direct question, however, I have a Savage Model 12, heavy 26" barrel, in 22-250, purchased new in 2015. It is a 1:12 twist.

Mine from that time period is 1 in 14.

Yup, while the Savage rep is correct for current production (either 1:9" or 1:12"), the early 90's vintage would have most likely been a 1:14".

Default Twist rate in Savage mdl 112......

I purchased a mdl 112 in 2002 and it has a 1 in 9 twist. Puts (5) 55 gr JHP into 7/16" at 100, using 35.5 Varget w/ bullet seated .020 off from lands & scope set at 10x.
Not bad for these 85 yr old eyes, gophers don't like me ,haha.
