Recommend a scale
 

I have a lee (lower end) model scale and I dont' think it is very accurate. After reloading 3-4 cases, I recheck the zero and I have to rezero it again. What are some pretty good scales at a reasonable price, that will keep its zero. I will use it just for weighing powder. Thanks.

I really like the Lyman 500 scale. About $40 from Midway.

The number one scale there is that you can trust and the most popular is the RCBS 505. This is what you need. You can go digital, but you still should have the RCBS 505 for back up and to make sure the digital is correct.

The Lee plastic scale you can try to sale in the 4-sale section if you advertise it like this.

I use a PACT BBK digital scale. I' ve had if for a few years and find it to be very accurate and reliable. Mine runs on a 9 volt battery but the new ones run on 9 volt or AC. They run around $100 or so.

Ohaus makes the scales for RCBS, Dillon, and many other companys....I' m old fashioned in that I still rest my confidence in Ohaus balance beam scales

I own the Pact Digital Precision Powder Scale, and it works very well. Good luck.

I have a five different scales that I use ,but the most inportant thing I have is a set of scale weights so I can check the accuracy of my scales .I have never had a problem with a balance beam scale but the scale weights is just for that extra peace of mind .

I have a 505 scale and love it except for one problem. After I' ve zeroed the scale and am moving the poises to the proper grain weight, the beam seams to move a little in the " V" notch. I find that this throws it a little off of zero. Is there anything I can do about this besides just being really gentile with it?

I just bought a digital scale off E-bay and it has worked fine so far. I received a weight for calibrating and have some lighter ones myself. I can' t see spending $200-$300 on a RCBS scale (at least thats what they charge up here). It' s good to +/-0.2 of a grain and needs no conversions. I know others are good to +/- 0.01 but I' m not that fineky....Take a look yourself. JDinAB

I keep promicing myself a digital, but for now I' m using an RCBS 5-0-5. It' s been in service for almost 18 years.
