.300 Savage Shooter/Reloader?
Anyone reload the Hornady 150grn SST for the 300 Savage?
Hmmm.... No bites so far! I'm curious to see some first hand info on loading the .300 Savage too! I finally got a set of dies and plenty of brass to start reloading for my Savage 99!
Mercy, are you loading it for a Bolt gun or a 99?
Used to have a 99, not any more. But I cleaned out my reloading room and found 200 Hornady 30303 150grn SST's - admittedly factory seconds from the plant in Grand Island, but for "appearance" or "set up" (first couple hundred out of a production run) which i picked up some years ago. Hoping to find them a good home with someone who can use them, just cover shipping.
Jag - you interested? |

Win 748 is a great powder for the .300 Savage in a 99 I used 42gr /150gr .....41gr/165gr .......and 40gr/180gr with magnum primers used in all being ball powder and for me -40 temp The SST will require backing off a couple grains and working up your load. Winchester brass BTW All shot under an inch at 100 yards mostly 1/2" after coffee.Use at own risk obviously.Harold
