trim neck?
this may seem like a silly question but how often do you trim when shooting from the same gun?

RE: trim neck?
I trim everytime I reload. Some brass streach more than others. I set my trimmer and start turning the handle.

RE: trim neck?
You trim when the case gets too long based on measurement with a caliper or checking with a gage. Then trim about .010" below max. What else could prompt you to trim?

RE: trim neck?
I trim every time I handload; remember the key to accurate loads are uniformity. Good luck.

RE: trim neck?
Always check the case lengths after resizing. If they' re too long they must be trimmed.
Resizing will grow the case, so check after resizing. The cases can be trimmed as much as .03 under max and you won' t have to trim again for many firings....however most reloaders will trim to .01 under. |
RE: trim neck?
I also trim every time like handloader 1 stated the key to accurate loads are uniformity.

RE: trim neck?
So far, I have had good luck by triming to .01 under max. case length. I have to do this every single time that I fire that case. I am reloading .300WM so maybe these get stretched more than a non-magnum case, I don' t know.

RE: trim neck?
I trim every time I reload, it' s just part of the process for me. I believe in the " key to accuracy is uniformity" theory also.
