Default 257 Weatherby Reloading ?

Looking for information for 100 grain TTSX by barnes using H1000.I would think 67-68 grains would be good starting point as most with H1000 start around there but just would like to make sure.

I started in that area and worked up to 76gr. for 3520 fps in a 24" barrel and 1/2" to 3/4" groups at 100 yards.

What type of brass do you use? My max COAL is 3.250.

Thanks for reply

I have used Weatherby, Norma, Hornady and reformed Fed 7RM. The cases with H1000 were Norma and primers were Fed 215.

10 4. I have Weatherby brass. I guess I'll just start there then and work up until I find something.

I have also found good loads with IMR7828, R-22 and Ramshot Magnum. I also am now working R-26 and will soon give it a try.

I have ramshot as well but the h1000 seems to work well for my gun. Paid 300 bucks for my vanguard brand new and get .75"groups @ 100 yards. That was with the 115tsx. I'm now experimenting with the 117sst and 100ttsx. I know I will not be using the sst for deer heard to many first hand reports that they just destroy everything. So I will use it for hogs. Let me know how it goes. I really want to get a chronograph.

Man I enjoyed shooting this round. I never owned one of these rifles but my cousin had a Mk V in this chambering and he was busy and asked if I could sight it in for him. I happily obliged. Taking it to the range with 2 full boxes of ammo (he owned a gun shop) it only took me 3 shots to sight it in as I recall. The remaining 37 rounds were taken shooting at the 200 and 300 yard steel plates which it hammered easily. I had a blast but he wasn't very happy about me handing him over 2 boxes of empty cases!

BTW he did end up shooting a nice 8 point at about 400 yards on a power line.
