Default Match Pistol Primers?

I was at our new to the area Gander Mtn last night and saw that they had Fed Match Pistol and Fed Magnum Match Pistol primers. I know the difference for using them in rifle situations, but not pistol. What am I missing?

Default Same load data...

The Fed match primers, in their respective classes, are nothing more than their standard counterpart class of primer that went through another round of sorting for weight regularity.

Same load data applies. The idea is that they produce lower ES by generating more consistent flash pressures and heat.

I used some fmmp's during the "dark times" in 2013 and 2014 when finding primers was difficult. Most guys don't shoot pistols well enough to milk out accuracy that would make ES differential due to primer charge weight noticeable, so unless you do, I wouldn't spend extra to get them.

That is exactly what I was thinking, I figured guys may be using them in place of rifle primers in specific situations for maybe a more controlled and exact load in small caliber weapons. I also thought that a lower ES or SD may be in the equation also. Thanks.
