Something odd perhaps
 

Ok here is my question I am reloading for my 308 win. I have worked up loads using 3 different bullets (165gr Nosler Partition, 165gr Sierra BTHP, 165gr Sierra SPBT). Selecting the powder that gave me the best group. Last week when I went to the range I decided to shoot a 6 shot group (2 of each bullet design) at 100 yards. the entire group was well under an inch probably close to 1/2 in. Is this uncommon occurance? I was always under the impersion that diferent bullet design would impact at diferent points.

It depends. I realize that statement is pretty vague, but your gun may shoot these 3 loads near identically... the guy next to you with an identical rifle may spray them all over the paper. If you are shooting 3 different bullets of the same weight, with the same load recipe behind each one, I wouldn' t expect that much difference as you noted.

I have found in some of my rifles that powder charge makes almost as much a difference as powder selection. My 223, for example doesn' t like any Varget load I have come up with for the 40gr V-max... with H335 it' s not much better until you get to 26.5gr. At 26.8 grains of H335 I found the sweet spot for my rifle and can cut a clover-leaf consistently at 100yd off the bench.

tote at least in theory equal bullet weights with similar shapes and driven at similar velocities SHOULD perform quite similarly. The fact that you are shooting what typically is a very accurate round just makes it that much more likely. I have a custom 280 700 that doesnt know the difference between Federal Premium 140 Trophy Bondeds and Hornady Light Mag 139 SSTs. The light mags are supposed to be as much as 150fps faster than standard loads (my gun has a 24" barrel also) but it doesnt show it. I also think that much of Federal Premium ammo has always been " hot" . Two different loads, similar bullets (under 300yds anyway) different powder loads (so Hornady says anyway) and yet the gun will put each of them together in a nickle at 100yds.

At least its a " positive" problem! :D

I am shooting a Rem 700 VLS wit a 26 in heavy barrel I was just baffeled i am however I am quite pleased with the results. The powder behind each is diferent one is Win 760 and the other 2 are bl(2)c I cant remember right off the amounts of each but thats why I write things down ;)

So how many times did you do this ? Last week I shot a five shot group that you could have covered with a dime and used two different guns to do it . A 243 win and a 25-06 . I wouldn' t want to bet on the odds of it happening again . Do it once it could be luck or a fluke ,do it time after time and you might have something there.

When fed the right food and when i do my part the rifle will put 5 rounds touching sometimes i think i loose around cuz they ar so tight

I' ve found that an accurate rifle will usually shoot any good bullet into a braggin' sized groups. Sometimes with different points of impact. AIN' T IT NICE!!! Sounds as if you have a keeper. Good luck.
